Whether you are building a custom home in an established neighborhood or on your land, you want to know that you are buying a good quality home from a reputable builder. The National Association of Home Builders, suggests these tips to help you choose a custom home builder in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Ask for referrals from friends and family.
Ask for referrals from area real estate professionals.
Does the builder work with the best trade partners in the area? At Homes by Gerbus, we work with award winning architects and interior designers for our design work and some of the area’s finest locally owned and nationally recognized trade partners and suppliers for construction.
Find out more about your Cincinnati custom home builder – how long have they been in business, do they warranty their work, do they have references, and are they financially sound?
Do they carry workers compensation and general liability insurance?
Ask to see samples of their work and look for quality and workmanship.
Drive through one of the builder’s established communities on a weekend and stop to ask existing homeowners about their experience and home performance.
Make sure you are comfortable with the builder’s procedures, timeline, written contract, and budget.
Make sure you can communicate with the builder and his team members. You will be spending a lot of time with them.
Be cautious of the lowest priced bid.
