Meet Debi and Bob. This Cincinnati couple spent years looking for the perfect location to build their family’s custom lake home. Located on 250 acres with a private lake in the New Richmond area, this home was designed as a weekend respite from the world and for casual (yet elegant) entertaining of family and guests.
Q: HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR LAND AND WHAT MADE IT SO SPECIAL TO YOU?
A: Bob found our land through a friend and it was love at first sight! We fell in love with the rolling terrain and privacy. We know that it would take the right builder to craft a home that would complement a location this special.
Q: DID YOU TALK WITH DIFFERENT BUILDERS BEFORE PURCHASING YOUR LAND AND BUILDING YOUR HOME?
A: WE DID NOT! Alan and I met through the Real Estate industry and I quickly became super impressed with his commitment to customer service and total hands-on approach to working with his clients. As a Realtor, I’ve had the pleasure of selling many of their homes over the years and I’ve never had an unhappy Homes by Gerbus client!
Q: HAD YOU ALREADY STARTED ON YOUR HOME PLANS AND IF SO, DID YOU ASK HOMES BY GERBUS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE PLAN AND PLACEMENT?
A. We definitely had our own plans, but trusted Alan and his architect to finalize a drawing (and offer well-taken suggestions) to achieve our desired results.
Q: WHAT WAS THE MOST CHALLENGING ASPECT OF BUILDING A CUSTOM HOME ON YOUR LAND?
A: With over 200 acres, the most challenging aspect for us was finding a place that we all agreed on situating the house!
Q: WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE LIKE WITH HOMES BY GERBUS AND WAS THERE SOMETHING IN PARTICULAR THAT YOU ENJOYED?
A: This was our first custom home and the experience was great from start to finish. We decided to make a cosmetic change a few weeks before closing, and the HBG team made it happen. Communication was excellent and any questions were quickly addressed. We were so appreciative of the seemingly small suggestions Alan would make (“Think about putting this in that room,” or “What about a taller cabinet next to the microwave?”) that became big things after we actually started living there!
Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ROOM OF YOUR HOME AND WILL YOU RECOMMEND HOMES BY GERBUS TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY?
A. Definitely the great room and kitchen area where we spend most of our time – enjoying time with our family and our friends. And will we recommend Homes by Gerbus, ABSOLUTELY! We do all of the time!
