In their new custom home in Mason for several months, meet Victor and Felicia, happy Vintage Oaks homeowners. Both semi-retired, Victor, a commercial real estate broker, and Felicia, a banking executive, were born and raised in England but moved to the United States in the late 70s. With two grown children, these empty nesters are loving their new home!
Q. Did you speak with other home builders before making your decision to build with Homes by Gerbus? And why did you decide to build your custom home with us?
A. We didn’t speak with any other builder, but we did speak to several homeowners who used Homes by Gerbus to build their own homes. All homeowners had nothing but good things to say about Homes by Gerbus, and a few even allowed us to “tour” their homes.
Q. What was the process like designing and building a custom home with Homes by Gerbus?
A. The design build process was easier than we thought it would be given our previous experience with a different builder many years ago. We love the fact that Homes by Gerbus didn’t cut any corners when it came to HVAC, windows, brick, doors, and all other home building materials. Kudos to the Gerbus team!
Q. Now that you’re living in your new home, what’s your favorite feature or space?
A. We don’t know that we have a single favorite space; however, the kitchen island area and the finished lower level are where we tend to spend most of our time. We moved in just in time to enjoy the football season on our home theater by Phantom Sound!
Q. You elected to work with our interior designer, Amy Holt, throughout the design process. What was the process like having a professional designer assist you in pulling your home together?
A. Working with Amy, owner of Designs on Madison was spectacular. She had great ideas regarding color schemes for the interior and exterior. Amy was a wealth of knowledge for flooring, tile selection, accessories, etc. Her experience (and expertise) was quite evident.
Q. Is there anything that you would like to share with others about your experience with the team at Homes by Gerbus?
A. Working with Nate and Alan was the best. From the very beginning both Nate and Alan were available for any questions. That goes a long way for us. Even today, a few months after moving into our home, they are still available for any questions we may have!
Q. So, it sounds like it’s safe to say that you highly recommend Homes by Gerbus to anyone searching for a custom home builder in the greater Cincinnati or northern Kentucky area!
A. Absolutely, no other builder would even come to mind!
